OpenAI Needs Scalable Plans for Small Businesses to Afford its New Tools

--

Make the prices between ChatGPT Plus/Pro affordable and less absurd.

@OpenAI Announces the very expensive $200 per month ChatGPT Pro, putting it out of reach for many small businesses. Most small businesses.
@OpenAI Announces the very expensive $200 per month ChatGPT Pro, putting it out of reach for many small businesses. Correction: Most small businesses.

Dear Sam Altman and OpenAI:

I wrote ChatGPT just now about the difference between paying $20 for GPT Plus and $200 a month for ChatGPT Pro, calling it an absurdity, especially for small businesses like mine that for the time being will receive zero to very little ROI by making such a move.

This was ChatGPT’s response:

Many users, especially small business owners and entrepreneurs like yourself, are looking for scalable options that offer advanced capabilities without jumping from $20/month to $200/month — a leap that feels disproportionate for the added features.

Suggested Feedback for OpenAI:

Introduce Mid-Tier Plans:

  • Offer plans in the $50-$100/month range with partial access to advanced tools like the o1 model, Sora video generation, or extended voice capabilities.
  • Scale the features so users can decide what fits their needs and budgets best.

My thoughts, BTW: Sora needs some written instructions as well.

And seriously, if you want wide-spread adoption of the video creation capabilities, one really can’t
