Not only that, if writing in Word, or even in WordPress, add the Grammarly extension to whichever browser you use. There's a free version that fixes words, passive voice, and punctuation. I also use the Hemingway too to ensure my sentences make sense, are at the grade-level I'm seeking, and lets me know if I've left any passive voice alive. The last step before publishing, is to run my work through ProWriting Aid.

Now if you're in the U.S., I've found that many of their corrections are more for Brits than Americans, but the tool is pretty good. Prowriting Aid, and now even the Associated Pressed, have caved to the use of "over" and the more appropriate "more than," when talking about a geographic place vs. a quantity.

Seeing an over where there should be a more than does what you say in the end. It to me shows a person who needs to work on their writing. That may be harsh, but if you look at the two expressions, one is historically geographic and the other is a quantity. Plus, no matter where we are on our writing journey, we all need to improve our writing in many ways.

And you are right about not relying on editors. If I get someone's text and I'm about to use the red ink of an entire Pilot G-2 07 on one page, it's not ready for me or anyone else to read. It's just not.

This is a good piece of writing, @MelissaBalick. I hope my comments help your readers, too.
