NATO secretary-general: Deploying Response Force, Includes U.S. Troops
Biden said, “U.S. troops will not fight in Ukraine,” but if Putin’s forces continue on into former Soviet countries….
President Biden played a word game Thursday when during his White House news event, he vowed that U.S military forces will not fight in Ukraine.
Today, the NATO secretary-general, Jens Stoltenberg, increased the likelihood of U.S. troops fighting Russian forces based on Putin’s extended plans to attack former Soviet-block countries and returning them to the fold.
In a live address Friday, the NATO leader said that for the first time in NATO’s history, elements of the NATO Response Force, which includes French, German, and U.S. troops, will be deployed to the countries bordering Russia that were once members of the U.S.S.R..
“This is the most security crisis we have faced in Europe for decades.” he Stoltenberg said. The forces are being deployed to “…prevent any miscalculation, any misunderstanding that we are ready to protect and defend all allies.”
