My Great Pyrenees, Maycee, and I have been tent camping in the deep woods of Upper Michigan for a month now, and last night, with the help of Reese Witherspoon, I went on a date with Zooey Deschanel.

Now, I must tell you, I’ve not been watching New Girl, Elf, or 500 Days of Summer any time of late. No Sweet Home Alabama. I’ve not been reading any fiction that’s in Reese’s Book Club.

I have listened in the last few days, to Us, by Regina Spektor, which you will recognize as the peppy intro music to 500 Days of Summer.

But Zooey hasn’t been on my mind. Until about 2 a.m. this morning, and I don’t normally have dreams with celebs, so I feel like sharing.

My Three Guy Friends

Three guy friends of mine, must have been my suite mates at Auburn in the old Carolyn Draughn Village Extension, but we were out. I don’t know where, and somehow we wound up at a party. There at the party were Reese, (yes, I know who she is.) and Zooey, among others.

For reasons I no longer recall, I wound up hanging with Zooey, Reese, and a friend of hers, perhaps the hubs, Jim Toth.

And it was not too long before Reese coaxed out of me my long-running celebrity crush on Zooey and her tweeness. As a matter of fact, it really is her tweeness that I have always been captured by. (I just didn’t know what the word meant until Paul McCartney used it in his song, English Tea.)

Well, even with her current suitor, Jonathan Scott, not present, Zooey and I hit things off.

The Next Thing I Recall

After that party, (I do have video from a party given by EA SPORTS Active more than a decade ago where I got a kiss on the cheek from Nancy O’Dell), Reese and I hatched a plan for a more formal get together with Zooey. I guess she was into match-making, I honestly don’t know what was driving her to help me.

I recall, in preparation, Reese and I making a cake. A nice-looking, highly decorated, professional-looking cake. Like one she’d be making on set of a TV show…
