Dear Fellow Medium Writers:

English style guides suggest capitalizing “God” when referring to the monotheistic deity.

This includes when writing “thank God,” “Oh my God!” and or the ultimate use of the name in vain, “G d!”

With the brevity of a Kristina God (also capitalized) story, please, capitalize the name, “God.”

When referring to Allah, God the Father, Holy Ghost, or Holy Spirit, those are names capped as well.

There is an exception.

The exception involves references to gods and goddesses. This includes deities of polytheistic religions and false gods as in “he made money his god.

We all want good grammar in our writing, right?

Many of us tend to lowercase God. Please, stop doing this.
