Julie, I love ya, enjoy your posts about writing, and enjoy your YouTube videos, having joined Twitch so I could join in during your writing hours. But I disagree with the presumptions in your argument(s). Do you wonder how many of "the white guys/women" who applied as well must feel since there must have been other factors considered than the color of skin? Did they not have the right skill sets; like were they not bilingual? Did they exhibit incompatible Myers-Briggs characteristics when members of the interview committee(s) met with the candidates? Did they not have enough required experience in the job description? Were they lacking in certifications? (@DavidPerlmutter, having had an Aspie step-son, you have my sympathies.) Having hired many during my political, public school, and corporate years the real policy and questions are will this candidate fit in, and can they do the job as posted? There also are other factors considered when hiring someone. Can they actually do the job better than the other candidates or not, a decision largely based on their portfolios and previous supervisors? As you may remember, before Covid, national unemployment among whites, blacks, and Hispanics was at one of the lowest levels in history. Then the nuts in Congress started handing out money like Johnny Appleseed across the country. Ultimately, qualifications and experience seem to be the lick log, or at least should be. But none of that seems to matter to the woke. This is the point the whole Diversity, Equity, and Exclusion, (I mean "inclusion") cottage industry of so-called "expert and expensive DEI coaches" ignore. And like Affirmative Action before it, DEE/DEI is hurting America. What's the difference in a corporate exec saying to his recruiters, "I want to hire a POC cos we've got too many old white guys up in here!" vs the same exec telling his hiring committee(s) and HR staff, "Only hire a white guy!" The prior is what the DEI gurus would say "the exec should be thinking, and certainly not racism" and the other is "racist?" The whole BLM foke, and Democrats on the Hill have a rude awakening once these millions of illegal Hispanics get all the amenities of being in America illegally. Dems in particular think that Hispanics are going to vote for Dems to maintain their power. And that may be true, but I'll guaran-damn-tee you, Hispanics will not be voting for white politicians any more than they're going to vote for black politicians. Go sit in a LULAC meeting near you. No, they're going to be voting for peeps who look like them. (What will the woke call that?) And then what will woke progressives do to remain in office and remain in power? Fix elections so that doesn't happen? Hm.....
