‘Step right up for this social media trick. Pick a platform, any platform.’

In 2014, I lost a web client because I said they did not need to hire a search engine optimization “expert.” I told them, instead, to focus on writing good content about their profession, and I’d load it to their website.

That’s what would have made a difference. My answer then, and even more so from a year’s worth of testing many SEO sites, is “Do not pay for that ‘free’ SEO tool!”

Keynsian SEOnomics: There’s no such thing as a free SEO anything.

The British economist John Maynard Keynes says, “There’s no such thing as a free lunch.”

Before reading any further, ask yourself the following question. “How many times has a YouTube ‘SEO expert’ allured you with the promise, ‘All you need is my [free tool]?’”

That free tool, you soon learn this turns into some basic-level $49-a-month SEO Software as a Service.

Once you pay for that, you discover the basic-level does almost nothing. You need the “pro” version to launch you to the page-one ranking status on Google.

Those pro-tools you “need,” run another $100, $199, or more.
